Miss Ruth Stackhouse, the popular
bride-elect has been the recipient of
a number of social attentions during
the past week. Mrs. William Merritt
Allen entertained the members of the
Amuzu Club in her honor Saturday
morning. Friday afternoon Mrs. Ida
Dunbar gave a lovely party for her
and Mrs. G. D. Barlow entertained at
a large reception in her honor Wednesday
afternoon. Mrs. John Thompson
gave her a heart-dice party at
her pretty country home yesterday
aft .-moon.
According to stories being told of
the fine records made by some of our
local sportsmen it is evident that
somebody is violating the law. The
new game does not permit a hunter
to kill more than 15 birds a day,
but the reports coming in from different
sections tell of this one or
that one wh0 has exceeded the limit.
Even if one has no regard for the
law, it is not a good sportsman who
will go out and slaughter birds all
day simply because he happens to be
/ a good shot and finds plenty of birds
to shoot.
