Medical Society Meets.
The Dillon County Medical Society
held a meeting Friday, July 19th,
with quite u full attendance of the
physicians of the county. Officers
were elected as follows:
President, Dr. F. L. Carpenter.
Vice-President, Dr< S. C. Henslee,
Secretary-Treasurer, Dr. D. M
M.ichaux.
A pledge sent out by the Medical
Defense Committee, whereby the
medical men of the state pledged
themselves to upply for commissions
in the army, when called upon to do
so, by the Medical Defense Committee,
was signed by several physi
cians. Dr. D. M. Michaux and Dr. L.
F. Johnson will attend the Health
Institute in Columbia Thursday and
Friday, August 1st and 2nd.

The new postal law which went
into effect July 1st does not allow
newspapers to carry past due subscriptions
and hereafter The Herald's
list will be revised every week instead
of every other week as heretofore.

of Education at the County Court
House Friday, July 12, 1918, at 9
a. m.
