WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK? |
Mr. W. M. Hauler oil the Street
Thursday Says to the Dilluta
County i'lantert*.
Do you want to hold your ootton
on account of prices? If so. read
this, but remember 1 am not advising
holding or selling cotton,
^ but suggesting that you use your
? v own judgement and pleasure as to
that part of it. Cotton is too cheap
to sell and too high to buy, or we
would all sell and buy ourselves
either rich or out of the business, j
I will have your middling, and
above cotton, weighed, stored and
insured, in limited quantities for
three months, free of charge from
October 1st, and advance, if wanted,
$40.00 per bale at 7 per cent per
annum for the time used. A receipt
will be given for each bale
showing the weight, and that the
cotton is absolutely yours after all
advances have been paid, with the
understanding that the Mill stor-1
ing said cotton shall have the privilege
of buying the sume at the
market price of cotton at Dillon,
Latta or Rowland on the date of
sale, and are to have the privilege
of using said cotton and replacing
of same weights and grades if not
bought by me. In order to forestall
any "kind faced friend" who may
whisper, "Caution, mills in bad
fix," 1 will say I will endorse each
receipt if you want it and am indebted
to.no one. Our warehouses
1 are practically vacant and this is
simply giving you the privilege of
using this space and to aid the
small farmer who may need help
in marketing his cotton. Of coufse
tno "big fish" don't need help. I
would be in the market for every
bale of your cotton if I could man- j
ufacture it without a loss, and all
the pleasure I have ever gotten
hut of the cotton mill business has |
been in biiying your cotton or
making the other fellow pay for
it. During the last ten years on.
this market you all have treated'
me fine, and I have had no com-1
plaints from any of you as to my
treatment of you. I hope condi- j
tlons will put me in the market
again within thirty days; if not I \
am your friend still, and will help :
all I can to get tip-top prices. It is |
up to you now, and I will be with;

Appeals to Southom Patriotism.
Thomas Dixon, the author of
"The Clansman," says that he would
rather make a nation's dramas than
its laws. He maintains that a
playwright can do unlimited good
for the country.
One of the effects of "The Clansman,"
which will be seen here on
Wednesday, October 11, at the
School Auditorium has been to
make the South conscious of its
greatness. By seeing the play
t Southern people are enabled to view
the deeds of their ancestors during
the Reconstruction period and they
are proud of their achievmeents.
The heroic deeds of one's forefathers
must always remain a cherished
subject for retrospection in a
truthful and vivid manner.
SLAVER OF STODVP IX TO DIE.
Assasin of Russian Premier Calmly
Hears His Doom Piim<*an.oe<l
by Courtmurtial at Kiev.
Kiev, Sept. 22?Dimitri Bogroff,
the assassin of Premier Stolypin,
was tried to-day by oourtmartial
.and sentenced to death by hanging.
Bogroff shot M. StolvDin a
week ago last Thursday night during
a gala performance at the
opera, the premier succumbing to i
the wound Monday night. Bogroff i
is about 24 years old and is a
.graduate cf Kiev university. He1
was a member of the secret police j
and also a revolutionist and is said
to have been assigned to the murderous
task by the revolutionary
01 gani/ation.
The courtmartial was attended by
20 officials, six of them having
been witnesses of the shooting, j
among them Al. Chtcheglovitoff, I
minister of justice. In view of
* Bogroff's plea of guilty, lio-wbver, !
none of them were called to the j
.stand, and only tCol. adi&bko was
examined. It was through the in- j
strumentality of Kuliabko that
Bogroff gained admittance to the
tneatre to assassinate M. Stolypin.
Bogroff declined counsed. Every
one was amazed at his calmness and
the firmness of his voice as he related
the history of his life. He;
also described haw he had deceiv-;
ed the police in getting the oppor- |
tunity to assassinate the premier, j
.'but did not betray any of his ac-,
complices. He heard the sentence
of death pronounced without even a
tremor.
The sentence must be confirmed
by the commander of the military
district before Bogroff can be j
lunged.
Is the Worhl Growing Better?
% Many things go to prove thai, it
.is. The way thousands are trying
to help others is proof. Among
them is Mrs. W. W. Oould, of "Plttsiield,
N. H. Finding good health by'
taking Electric Bitters, she now
w advises other sufferers, everywhere,
9 to take them. "For years 1 suf-;
fered with stomach and kidney ,
trouble," she writes. "Every medi-'
cine 1 used failed till I took Elec-'
, trie Bitters. But this great remedy
helped me wonderfully." They'll
help any woman. They're ^he best
tonic and finest liver ana kidney
remedy that't made. Try * them.
