was done by a fire which
swept the little mining town of
Welch, the county scat of McDowell ?
county, to-day. The fire, which ori- 5
ginated in Hudson Brothers' saloon
at 5:30 a. m. rapidly spread to ad- t

The fire department of Landgraff I
and Bluefield were rushed to Welch
on special trains to help the citizens
fight the flames.
