the Happy Kveut Taken
from a Texas Paper.
A marriage of unusual interest to
Dillon county folks was celebrated
at Uvadale, Tex., on November 23
o:t account of the prominence of
tl.e groom, Mr. K. H. Liles. who
is an old Dillon county boy. For
the past several years Mr. Liles
her been located at Orangeburg,
bet he is still affectionately remembered
by the large circle of friends
who gave him up with regret when
he left for his adopted home. For
the present Mr. and Mrs Liles are
ai Orangeburg but they will spend a
part of their honeymoon at Dillon
where the bride will receive a
cordial welcome from the groom's
many friends. Following is an account
of the marriage:
"Then before all thev stand -the
holy vow
Ar>d ring of gold no fond illusions
Bind her his."
And thus on Wednesday afternoon
iwo of Uvalde's charming maids became
charming matrons when Dr. A.
<.!. Person gave in marriage bis
daughters, Misses Belle and Faye.

The methodist church was elaborately
decorated with pink and
white blossoms and a profusion of
ferns, and two o'clock found hosts
of friends to witness the ceremony.
Miss Volena Cohen presided at
the organ and played the accompaniment
while Mrs. R. M. Hines
sweetly sang, "Answer," following
which the strains of Lohengrin's
inarch summoned the bridal party.
Miss Bern ice Roscoe and Rufa
Cohen, clad in pink silk frocks,
gloves and shoes, were the first to
enter and took their places on either
side of the altar. With the
pink wands, tipped with brides rosc.a
and tinly tinkling silver bells
which they carried a fairy-like arch

The hrldes were gowned alike in
white satin chiffron ever silk, with
trimmings of imported lace and
touches of silver embroidery in rose
ueeigii. The becoming veils were
i eld in place by tube rose wreaths
and they carried ring hoquets of
bride roses and ferns. Miss Belle
wore a handsome pearl brooch and
Miss Faye an elegant cameo, the
a ~ gifts of the respective grooms.
The young men entered at the
north door and met Dr. Person and
hie daughters at the altar. Rev.
