It was the usual jollification. however, and prohi- w bitionist and local optionist locked u ara and earrcled forth the old songs, being interrupted occasionally by n mock session. The galleries and " floor* were crowed at times by vis- n itors, who watched the proceedings o with interest and amusement. ii During one of. the recesses the f "ghost walked*' and the members d received tlieir cheeks for $200 for a n session of 47 dnys. The prol.;jition bill as passed in le legislature of South Carolina in s late se?sion is in brief as follows: "Section 1. The section then forbids the sellg or giving away any such intoximts except as provided in followig sections: "Sec. 2. That whclscsale druggists ay lawfully sell in wholesale qualities to retail druggists and to pnbe or charitable hospitals or to medal or pharmaceutical colleges .and i no other way, pure alcohol for edical purposes only, or graip al)hol to be used bv chemists or ictei iologists actually engaged in icntitic work and for such purposes .1.. 11J The section provides for proper ports of such sales. "See. 3. That any retail druggist hese place of business is located i any of the incorporated towns or ties of this State, who is himself a !gistered or licensed pharmacist, or ho regularly employs a registered licensed pharmacist, may sell, in ic manner herein set out. upon (11ig a bond in the sum of $.">.000. to ? approved by the clerk of court, i which each druggist does busi?ss, conditioned for a faithful ob>rvance of the provisions of this St." This section further provides relictions about approval of bond id allows the use of alcohol for impounding medicines, provided >wcvcr that no more alcohol shall i used in the medicines than are sential. It provides that no physician who a druggist shall issue and fill his rn prescriptions and guards against iproper delivery by which means it ight be misapplied. "Sec. 6.
