of land tendered by the city for a
coach shop lor this company.
The program includes the building
of shops coaling in excess of. half a
myiion dollars, employing four him
dred additional skilled workmen with
a yearly pay roll of three-q inters o
a million dollars. j

Discussing the announcement of
the Crust Lines’ plans for Rocky
Mount, the Wilmington Star says:

FORESTRY
DIES
Washington, March 2.1.—M. L.
1 Alexander, Coissioner of Conserva-
ition for Louisiana, died at New Or
leans on March 19. The cause of
forestry in the South loses a staunch
friend in his death. In six years
Louisiana has advanced under his ad-
i ministration to a leading place among
states practicing forestry. It now lias
a state-wide fire protective system,
operated in cooperation with the Fed
eral Government, and laws that
