Mat-: ters of vital interest to the people of | the city were discussed, and several' committees were appointed to invest!-] gate and call to the attention of' proper authorities certain sanitary conditions. $3.00 was contributed to the Italian Baby Relief fund to assist in the ef-j: fort to raise the Florence contribu i tfon to $1000.00. jr The great desire and need for a pub lic library dq Florenc e was discussed, and the urgency for immediate action if this generation is to enjoy the bene fits and pleasure of such an Institu tion. A ctimmittee was appointed to consult with others who are Interested w4th a view to agitating the matten and bringing It to some conclusion. The President expressed the hope that the women of the qlty generally will coTrth Into the organization and give their support and sympathy in its undertakings.
