5 We Believe Strongly
l In Two Things
m
Florence Realty
l And Liberty Bonds.
Wc are putting our experience, our reputa
lions, our money, behind both and vnc vtan:
everybody to know it.
Therefore—
• If you have a Florence lot for sale we want
to sell it and we believe we can get the right
^, , )r ice for it. And if you believe as strongly
in Liberty Bonds as we do you will join us
in an offer to accept Liberty Bonds at par as
first pavmerits on such property. If you are
loaded up with bonds ami teel you cannot
make this concession we will see if we can
find a way to satisfy you and make the buy
er's bonds count at face value too.
On The Other Hand—
If you want to buy a Florence lot and have
Liberty Bonds you would like to put into the
trade we will negotiate such an arrangement
for you and make the bonds count full par
just as they will count with Uncle Sam the
day they are due.
Now there's the actual proof of our belief.
We are not talking our confidence in the pres
ent and future values of Florence real estate.
We arc backing it up and coupling it with
our belief that the United States government
will nay what it promises to pay. We are
not a®*aid that we are misplacing our confi-
blence in either case. We want everybody
share it and make Florence realty as solhl
^Ts the United States treasury itself.
\
Come On with Your Bonds—
Wc will find men in Florence who will ex
change an equally good thing—Florence real
estate—for every one you have.

A wedding ot much interest not
only In this city, but throughout
Florence county took place Wednes
day evening when.. Miss. Ella Mc
Pherson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles J. McPherson, became the
bride of Mr. D. L. M’cKnight of
Charleston.
The wedding took pace at tin
McPherson home in the Hopewell
or Claussen neighborhood at six
o'clock in th? evening. There were
a large number of guests. The
beautiful home was artistically deco
rated for the occasion. The coloi
scheme was pink and green through
out with the exception of the parlor
where white and green were used,
these colors being employed with
beautiful effect in the building of
the marriage altar. In this room
the handsome chandelier and the ai-
tar were showered with Maiden
hair and Swansonia.
The marriage ceremony was r
impressively pronounced by the
Rev. A. P. Toomer of Eastover. tlv-
Rev. W. H. Johnson pastor of Hope-
well church offering a beautiful
prayer at its conclusion. Miss Ellen
Reese of Tatum played the wedding
march.
The bridal procession was formed
In one of the upper rooms and pro
ceeded down the wide stairway tc
the parlor where in the presence of
many friends these popular young
people were united.
Mrs. Stuckey of Hemmingway,
acted as the dame of honor, while
the maid of honor was Miss Harriet
McPherson, a sister of the bride. Mr
(leorge Glen McKnight of Charles
ton. a brother of the groom, acted
as best man. The bride was given
in marriage by M,. Theodore Mc
Pherson. a brother. The sweet lit
tle flower girl was Miss Alice Me-
Knight, of Wilson's Mills, while
Master Robert Howe Tesky bore the
ring.
The brides maids and groomsmen
wore as follows: Miss Dorothy Mc
Pherson with Mr Robert McKnight
of Charleston: Miss Minnie Huggins
with Mr. M. B. Mudge of Charles
ton: Miss Elma McPherson with Mr
William C. McCall.
After the ceremony a reception
was held during which the wedding
cake was cut and refreshments serv
ed. Misses Zenobia Stevenson and
Inez MePherson presided at the
punch bowl while cake and icc cream
were passed by Miss Cox. Miss Mi
dred McPherson, Mrs. Coleman and
Mrs. Howe.
Shortly after the reception • Mr.
and Mrs. McKnight left for Charles

Philosophy of a Cipher.
Consider the cipher. It amounts to
nothing In Itself, hqt when pul at work
with others behind n good strong fig
ure it adds wonderfully to ihe value
of the group. But if a cipher puts on
airs and gels out In.front of the pro
cession, It becomes valueless again.
Men might take a lesson and learn
that their value • ■ only as long as
they slay on i
Peculiarities of Poultry.
The foraging habit of domestic poul
try ill list rates some of ihe differences
observed in the manners of wild birds.
Place a brood of ducks in a field and
they wilhgeneraily pursue one course,
marching in a body over the field with
great regularity. A brook *;( chickens,
on ihe cnnirnry, will scatter, occasion
ally reassembling, hut never keeping
close together unless ihey are follow
ing a hen. Turkeys scatter ’themselves
less ihnu chickens, but do not equal
ducks in the regularity of their move
ments.

CONSTIPATION
And Sour Stomach Caused This
Lady Much Suffering. Black-
Draught Relieved.
Meadorsville, Ky.—Mrs. Pearl Pat
rick, of this place, write#: “I was
very constipated. I had sour stomach
and was so uncomfortable. I went to
the doctor. He gave me some pills.
They weakened me and seemed to
tear up my digestion Vhey would
gripe me and afterwards it seemed
I was more constipated than before.
I heard of Black-Draught and de
cided to try It I found it just what 1
needed. It was an easy laxative, and
not bad to swallow. My digestion soon
Improved. I got well of the sour stoifi-
ach, my bowels soon seemed normal,
no more griping, and I would take a
dose now and then, and was in good
shape.
I cannot say too much for Black-
Draught for it Is the finest laxative
one can use.”
Thedford’s Black-Draught has for
many years been found of great value
In the treatment of stomach, liver and
bowel troubles. Easy to take, gentle
and reliable in Its action, leaving no
bad after-effects, it has wen the praise
of thousands of people who have used
