negroes here on Tuesday night are ex
pected today, when a special grand
^Jury meets to investigate the crime.
Fourteen negroes are in Jail in connec
tion with the assault on a white girl
Monday which resulted in the lynch-
ings.

National Fertilizer Association, to be
held at White Sulphur Springs, W.
Va„ beginning next Monday and con'
tinning through Friday. A number
of fertilizer men of Columbia will at-|

lelegation. The Southern Fertilizer i
Association will meet at the same-

The program for this gathering is
very attractive. There will be a num
ber of social and athleteic features,
