VkjvEX and women who do hard 'labor, such as building, farm- ! ing or housekeeping, and those ^ho do exhaustive brain work of vari- pua kinds, often feel the need of some thing to help renew fagged forces ami tone up the system. To help repair the wear caused by PTer-work, to gain renewed strength pnd energy, many have obtained good results from taking Ziron Iron Tonic. Ziron Is g perfected preparation of purs medicinal iron salts, combined " rith other valuable strength-giving tonic ingredients, which are recom mended by leading physicians. Mr. H. B. Converse, of McEwen, Tenn., writes: “I 'had been working very hard, and was getting weak and run-down from hard work. When I commenced taking Ziron, in a few days I felt stronger, and now I have taken two bottles I feel as strong as ever, although I have kept at work all the time.’’ You cannot lose anything by giving Ziron a trial, but very likely will gain much. Your druggist will sell you the first bottle on a money-back guarantee. THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA County of Florence By H. A. Brunson, Probate Judge. Whereas. Judge of Probate The Danube river Hows through • countries in which fifty-two langnaj; es and dialects are spoken, i The history of horse-racing datci j back more than six hundred years, am! racing in England was known to exist as early as the tenth century. Whatever the excuse for letting Slacker Bergdoll go under guard from the military prison at Governor's Is land to liis home in Philadelphia, gross carelessness was manifested by his guards, from whose custody he es caped yesterday with 'ridiculous ease. This young man, a draft dodger, lias cost the government hi ready an ini- ■ mease amount of money in his pur suit. When he was caught he put up la fight that cost his mother a large sum. But. noth withstanding all ef forts, he was convicterr'Vand sentenced to serve five years' imprisonment, which was a wholesome example of the principle that the law knows no distinction in social status of offend ers. , X Yet would plain John Smith, desert er. or slacker, have bean allowed to leave Governors Island under guard to transact “confidential business?" The' oflic'al statement is made that Bergdoll was allowed to go to Phila delphia to secure a sum of money se creted in a place which only he could find. This will hardly justify the ex traordinary 1 oncession grar f d. If Bergdoll knew where the cash was hidden he surely could have described the place to his legal representatives. A full official explanation of this case is demanded. The public will not be satisfied with merely the punish ment of the men through whose care-1 lessnoss this prisoner escaped. It will not be content with the present statement of reason why this man was taken from prison under such slight and lax punrd and given an extraordinary privilege which he abused and which it might have been 1 expected lie would seize the first op portunity to abuse.—Washington Star. | The old-time press agent is now known as a "publicity expert,” and his business lias greatly developed in recent years.
