MASS MEETING HELD AND PLANS
DEVISED FOR GREATER
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT

A mass meeting of the citizens
of the Ebenezer school district was
held at the school house there yes-
teiday at which ways and means of
improving local school -'conditions
weie discussed. The unanimous opin
ion was that while the people of that
district had every reason in the world
to be proud of the progress their
school had made within the past few
years yet they were not satisfied and
were determined to push on to the
goal of greater things in education
al progress. It was unanimously de
cided at the meeting that an election
be called for the voting of additional
school taxes and the trustees were
instructed to order an election for
six additional mills. Which will be
done and the election held in flic*
very near future.
Offers Assistance
Mr. J. F. Stackley, President the
Florence Ice Company, yesterday
placed the plant of the Ice company
at the disposal of the Mayor to use it
in any way possible to relieve tin
water situation. The mayor thanked
Mr. Stackley and stated that if neces
sary he would pipe steam from the
ice plant to the city water works
boilers.
