paliany, including the clergymen of j pUip ' voot * P a P cr
the denomination in the state, are at
tending the annual meeting of the
council of the Diocese of South Caro
lina, which convened in Spartanburg
Tuesday afternoon. This meeting
promises to be of considerable im
portance, in view of the fact that it
comes on the heels of the recent na
tion-wide drive and also because of
(he proposed plan of reorganizing the
| denomination In the state, which will
be threshed vut at Spartanburg.
Ono of the two plans for the Episco
pal work in the state wlU likely bo
adopted.* One suggestion is that the
slate be divided into two sections,
with a bishop for the upper half and
a bishop for the lower half. The oth
er suggestion is that a bishop coad
jutor be selected, to act as an assist
ant to the present bishop in handling
the work of the entire state, wlthouv,
making the division. Other matters
of importance to the denomination.'
will bo transacted «t the Council I
meeting.
