B. PATRICK COMMITS SUICIDE Kings true, March 19—G. B. Patrick, a well known and esteemed young man of the county, committed suicide at the home of hisfajiier-in-law, Mr. J D. When the “work or figk-” law was promulgated he gave up this business and took up farm work withi his father-in-law. His remains were buried at Indlantown church yesterday. Metal tubing and pipelines destroy ed, 20,000 tons. Twenty five great machinery repair ing centers have been entirely wreck ed or seriously damaged, inculding those of Lille, Douai, Arras, Valen ciennes,. No statement was given out by the board after the ad journuier,. of the meeting. It has heed rumored for some time that Dr. Currell trended retiring from the presidency of the institution probably at Hid commencement in June. Just toiat effect today’s action on the part of the students of the institution will have cannot be forecasted flow. The doctor went before the board and made a vigorous defense of himself, it is said. Two Causes of Dissension. There are said to be two very big causes for the dissension which now exists on the University campus They are 'the Reserve Training Corps and the existence or alleged existence of fraternities on i.he campus. There is a state law against fraterni ties in date institutions but mi’.with standing this it is alleged that frafemi ties do exist at the University and 1i has been claimed by some of the boys that the president of the Univer sity wan aware of (the fact. At the recent session of th eGeneral Assembly a resolution whs introduced in the house by Representative Mann of PRkens calling for an inve^'iga tion of reports that these fraternities Existed at state institutions but for some reason or other the resolution never got through.
