We reprint from the Times- Democrat, N. C-, and with the greater pleasure because Kilgo is a South Carolinian and has held hero high positions in the church and in the advancement of higher education: “The famous Clark-Kilgo trial is ended and results in the com plete vindication of Dr. Kilgo, president of Trinity College. After brief deliberation, the board of trustees of the college de cided that neither the charge nor a single one of the specifications was sustained. According to the Raleigh Post correspondent the charge made by Judge Clark was: That he (Dr- Kilgo) is unfit to be president of Iriuity College. 1. That Dr. Kilgo’a reputation in South Carolina was that of a wirepuller of the ward politician t.vpe and his performances in this S a e have justified bis reputation. 2. That he was in Tennessee and was known there as a scrub politician. 3. Sycoponancy to Mr. Wash ington Duke in that he (Dr. Kil go) recently led a procession to Mr. Duke’s house and extolled him as the greatest man the State has ever produced. 4- That he has received person al gratuity from Mr. Duke. 5- That Dr. Kilgo intended to prevent Judge Clark from having an opportunity to produce evi dence before a former mooting of the trustees. Rubbed I be Grave. A startlin'* incident, of which Mr. John Oliver of Philadelphia, was the subject, is narrated by him as follows: “I was in a most dreadful condition.
