baggage on the Augusta train. A
track had been vacated immediate

placed too near the open track.
An engine pushing one car came
under the sheds slowly, and with
the usual ringing of the bell, and,
striking the truck, overturned it
and two men upon the track. Mr.
Marshali was thrown just under
the moving car and his right arm
was horribly mangled before the
alarm could be given and the en

and struck hy several trunks, but
his injuries' are not thought se-
sious.
Mr. Marshall was immediately
taken to St. Francis Infirmary

putation was necessary. The arm
was accordingly taken off near the
shoulder. The physicians were
very doubtful about Mr. Mar
shall’s recovery, but hoped for the
best.
