Mr. J. E. Schoolfield, the noted
and successful evangelist, will be
gin a meeting at the Methodist
church, thia city, ou Sunday,
March 6, that ia, just a little over
one week from to-day. Mr. Van
Pelt, who accompanies him as
choir master, will be here next
Thursday night at wuich time a
prayer meeting and song service
will be held. After the prayer
meeting he will organize a choir,
and on the following two nights,
Friday and aatnrday, there will
be singing and prayer services.
This work ia in the way of prepa
ration for the next week, and all
the Christian people of the town
are earnestly urged to attend these
preparatory services.
Mr. Schoolfield will be on hand
in time to begin Sunday.

ty in both the war and the navy
departments is too unmistakable

to do, and that will be to seize the
island of Cuba by force of arms.
At no time since the war of the
rebellion has the military branch
of the government been so active
as it has to-day-
