Local Pickings B'im Union held a very BuccesB' fill and profitable meeting at the Sardis church from Friday to Sun day inoluaive. The Rev. H. R, Moaeley paator of the . Baptist church here and deacon J. -1. Cox were present. The next meeting of the union will be at Sparrow Swamp church, the 5th Sunday m May. Five special cars containing the members of the Union Association of Lumber Dealers from the North west passed through Florence this morning eu route for Charleston and Florida. There were 125 in the party. This association is composed of very wealthy lumber men. The party will be entertain ed in Charleston to-day. Mr I. Sulzbacher has in his pet flower garden pansies in full bloom. Another monster gun is in Florence to-day. It is being ship ped to Charleston for the Harbor defenses. Florence county can boast of plenty of hog and hominy for 1898. Public Hack. The undersigned offers his ser vices to the public as a harbwmu.
