Clerk of Court McCown and Sheriff McLendon returned from Darlington yesterday afternoon. Mrs. ClaudeS. Browne, of Dillon, arrived in the city last night on a visit to Mrs. M. Mr. R. S. Churchill, Editor of the Dillon Herald, dropped into our sanctum last night on his way to Sumter. Mr. L. R. Brazell, of Florence, was in town on Tuesday on his way to Sumter on business.—Dar lington News. Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Dixon went to Darlington this morning, where at 10 o’clock the Presbyterian Synod convened. Mr. Chas. A. Hines, who has been spending several days in Florence, left this morning for Wadesboro, N. C. Mr. M. J. Freeman, represent ing the Ullmau and Philpott Mfp. Co., makers of printer’s ink, Cleve land, Ohio, is in the city to-day. Mr. E. R Miner, Editor of the Timmonaville Enterprise, was in the city last night. He is now getting out a souvenir edition of the Enterprise. Mr. and Mrs W. H. Moziugo and their little daughter, Agues visited relatives and friends at Florence recently.—Riverdale Cor Darlington News. Mr. H. S. Blizzard passed through Florence this morning on his way from Cartersville to Savage, where he goes to accept a position as book keeper for Messrs. Holliday & Son. The Rev. E. T. Hodges preached a very interesting sermon at New man Swamp last Sunday morn ing, and also gave the Sunday School a good lecture.—Copeland Cor. Darlington News. Dr. G. G. Palmer, of Carters ville, and Mr. John McSweeu, of Timmonsville, paasid through Florence last night going to Dar lington to attend the sessions of the Presbyterian synod. Mr. Charles F. Sansbury, of the Peo Dee Advocate, Bennettsville, was in the city last night. THE METHODISTS Will Hold Services In their Church on Sun day Morning—The Sunday School. On Sunday morning the Meth odists will hold services in their church. TLe inside painting has been completed, and this week a general cleaning up is going on. Everything will be ready in time and those who have not yet in spected the building will be pleasantly surprised at the great improvements made. On Sunday afternoon the exer cises of the Sunday School will be in the nature of a special rally day service. The exercises will open with a song service beginning promptly at 4 o’clock.
