The Bishop’s morning sermon was based upon the following text: Luke 8: 43-44—“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came be hind Him and touched the hem of His garment; and immediately her issue of blood stanched.’’ His sermon which eet forth the power and beauty of faith, was simple, strong and impressive and pleased the large congregation. At night the text was taken from 1 Cor. 9: 24—“Know ye not that they which run in a race run allf bat one receiveth the prize? So run that yon may obtain.” The Bishop spoke earnestly upon the theme suggested by this verse, “Christian earnestness.” There was, said he, but one prize, a gar land of leaves, iu the Grecian racee of old, but there is the prise of eternal life for every Christian who runs with patience the race set before him. He closed by ex horting all Christians to so run that each might obtain. Rev. H. R.
