Purvis* Trial is On. (Fayetteville Observer, September 9th.) Edgar Purvis was put on trial this morning at Harnett county Superior Court sitting in Lilling ton, charged with the murder of flagman Blackwell. Judge Oliver H. Allen is on the bench. Yesterday afternoon Deputy sheriff Autry returned from Lil lington where he went to carry Purvis, with writs of habeas cor pus for Ed. Cromartie and Jas. Wright, prisoners in the county jail, and left on the 10:20 A. C. L. train with them last night for Lil lington. It is said that they will testify against Purvis, relating confessions made to them by Pur vis during his incarceration in the Horses and Mules. The undersigned has just re turned from the Virginia horse market, and has brought hack a carload of horses aud mules suita ble for all purposes.
