The Kingstree base ball team
passed through Florence this morn
ing en route to Cheraw to cross
bats with a team of that city. A
goodly number of Kiugstree’s citi
zens accompanied them.

Methodist church of this city.
These plans would give oar Meth
odist friends a beautiful and or
namental church and one credit
able to our progressive city. It is
to be hoped that our brethren wil^
see their way clear to make these 1

10 Witness the Institution of a New Lodge.
To-night about twenty of Hy-
mau’s citizens will see something
and learn something that they
ndvsr saw or knew before. A
lodge of Knights of Pythias will be
instituted there, and as a necessary
part of such institution the de
grees—three of them—leading to
the rank of Knight will be confer
red- Henry H. Husbands, acting
Deputy Grand Master, with the
assistance of other appointees, will
do the “grand act,” and a number
of visiting Knights will be present
to see it well done.
About 1 o’clock to-day the Flor
ence contingent left for the scene
of action. Nineteen stalwart
Knights took the trip in hacks,
and it goes without saying that
they will have a jolly time. Here
