Nissen and daugh ter spent yesterday at the home of Mr. Banyan B. Napier. Mrs. John H. Berry, of Marion, is spending some time with Mrs. I. E. Watson in East Florence. Rev. E. T. Hodges will conduct the prayer meeting at the mission chapel in East Florence to-night. Mrs. George H. Me Maste r, w ho has been visiting Mrs. W. R. Bar ringer, has returned to Winns- boro. Mrs. R. M. McCown and Miss Belle McCown, who have been visiting in Columbia, have returned home. L. H. Meares, Esq. has pur chased the residence on Cheves street formerly occupied by Mr. J. D. Pope. The frien Js of Mr. Morgan E. Swails will be glad to know' that there is a change for the better in his condition. Mr. J. L. Neeley has purchased the handsome and commodious residence on«the corner of Cheves and Gaillard streets. Miss Crews, who will he remem bered as a charming visitor to this community, has returned to her home in Danville, Ya. Mrs. Richardson, matron of the Welsh Neck High School, Harts- ville, spent yesterday in Florence as the guest of Mrs. R. S. Smith.
