Kaum* Railroad* HAoakttl a«J Tralaa Stalled la lh* Saow Drift*. Topeka, Kans., January 4. The railroads of Kansas are suffer ing badly from the snow storm. All trains are late and in some places traffic is entirely blockaded. Not much snow is falling to-day, but the high winds are drifting yesterday’s snow so much as to make it still harder for the roads. In some places the drifts are six feet and ten feet high. At Larned level. , Four Santa Fe passenger trains were stalled over ten hours between •odge City aud Nickerson yester day. An engine with a snow plough was sent out there, and it also was stalled. Traffic on the Pan Handle south of Woodward, Oklahoma, is entirely blockaded, as was the case on the Liberal aranch of the Rock Island. Trains on the main line of the Rock Is- and are away late to-day. THE STORM IN NEBRASKA. Omaha, Eeb., January 4.—The blizzard which visited this city Sunday still continues, and while comparatively little snow has fall en the wind drifts what has and impedes traffic. Suow ploughs and road scrapers have been con stantly iu use. The thermometer has ranged from zero to 5 degrees above. The weather reports to the rail roads show heavy winds and snow in every station in the State. The snow storm and the wind played havoc with the trains. The Chi cago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha is blocked north of Blair, and no trains came in from Sioux City or went up there to-day over that road. The Sioux City trains came down on the Iowa side of the river over the Sioux City and Paci fic Road. The Union Pacific branch trains were running, but all main line trains were late this af ternoon. Eastern, Western and Southern trains arrived from ten to forty- five minutes late. Rock Island trains from Denver were laid out by the snow, and a substitute train went east this afternoon from Omaha. Telegraph wires are working poorly throughout the West and East, as well as North, each road doing nearly all its business over one wire. Reports from Huron and other }>oints in South Dakota show thirteen inches of snow. A spec ial from Vermillion, S. D., states that the wind has drifted the snow from ten to twenty feet in places. Three stock men are reported to have frozen to death seven miles northeast of Nelson, Nebraska.^ Freignt trains are stalled on the Elk Horn, west of Norfolk, Neb., and on the Chicago, S f t. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha, between Norfolk and Winside. C. H. BARRINGER. STATKMKNT OK BANK OF FLORENCE At the eltMe ot buhintMut. Dec. HI. ItSM: ASSET’S.
