Bishop Embry, who pre sided, preached a powerful sermon Tuesday morning and ordained four young men. The conference spssiou was pleasant throughout. It is said that this conference raised more money for Allen Uni- VFrsity than either of the other two conferences of the State. H Bowen has b*-sn trans ferred to the Columbia conference and stationed at Bethel church, Columbia. The members of the church here regret very much to give ip Rev. Bowen. He served them faithfully for three yean, finithed the church building—now ouo of the prettiest in town,—re duced their indebtedness and greatly increased the membership. He goes to Columbia with an uu tarnished reputation and carries with him the best wishes of the citizens of Florence, both white and colored. At a meeting of this camp held to-day at 12 m., the following members were elected delegates to a convention to be held on the 30th inst., for the purpose of elect ing regimental officers, viz. J. J. McCown, Capt. J. S. Beck and Dr. P. B. Bacot. It was also resolved that the delegates be authorized to cast the vote of this camp. Fire at Darlington. The white flag indicates fair weather. 2nd The blue flag indicates rain or snr w. 3rd. The white flag with a black square in the centre indicates a cold wave. 4th. The black triangular flag is a temperature flag only. 5th. A white flag with the black triangular flag above it indicates fair aud warmer weather. 6th. A white flag with the black triangular flag below it indicates fair and colder weather. 7th. When there are more than one flag displayed the readiugs should be according to the manner in which the flags are displayed beginning at the top of the mast and reading downward, for in stance. If the weather is to be fair f ollowed by rain and colder weather, the white flag will be on top toe blue flag next and the triangular flag below. The telegraphic reports us re ceived daily by the city clerk from headquarters will be displayed iu a glass frame on the door facing of the entrance to the city hall every day, and any one wishing to see them can do so any time after 12:30 o’clock each day.
