the various county branches of the
South Carolina Cotton Growers' Co- '
operative Association, meeting in Co- '
lumbia last Wednesday, heard reports
from the board of directors as to the
progress made by them in their plans
for handling the crop of 1922 and re- ;
solved to so out and sign up 160,000
additional bales, thus making the
South Carolina assocaition the biggest *
in the belt. They declared they be- '
lieved'it now to be the best.
The chairmen ware enthusiastic
over the report made by the boai^\>i a
directors ar.d were liberal in thei^
praise of the directors for the work they
have done. Thy were told by
the board that they had been assured
of much more than enough money
to finance the crop. The sales mana- '
gei" and various officials of the asociation
were introduced to the chairman.
'
L. D. Jennings, of Sumter, made
an earnest appeal to the chairman to go
out and sign up 160,000 more bales. {
He said that coperative marketing !
built upon a solid foundation and that }
it would endure forever. He pointed '
out the great advantages that would
accrue from jt.
