We are still having some rainy, bad
weather.
Not much garden work done as yet.
Mr. Clarence B. Miller of Gastonia,
N. C., while in Columbia on busienss,
paid his mother, Mrs. Decy E. Millev
and sister, Mrs. T. A. Taylor, a
visit in Lexington.
Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Taylor were
the guests of their son, Tnlmage Taylor,
while in town last week.
Mr. R. W. Miller of Barr was the
guest of his grand daughter, Mrs. T.
A. Taylor.
Mr. Perry L. Taylor was a welcome
visitor Saturday of Mr. T. A.
Taylor.
Mr. George l.ucas of near Pelion
was a visitor of his brother-in-law,
Mr. T. A. Taylor.

Onrr died near here last Thursday.
She recently returned from the Columbia
hospital for treatment. Her
husband. Matt Burr, died very suddenly
after a day's visit with friends
about two years ago. Surviving her
are three children, James Burr, who is
a prosperous farmer, Mrs. Julius
Wright of Johnston and Miss Helen
Barr. And three sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Olin Ridson, Misses Eva
and Jessie Rushton of Johnston and
Pierce Rushton of Johnston.
Tlie funeral services were conducted
yesterday by their pastor. Rev.

Five hundred and sixty barrels of
sweet potatoes were sold last week
for the farmers of Clarendon county
by the South Carolina Sweet Potato
association. This .association operates
upon the same plan as the cotton marketing
association now being organized
and if there is still any farmer
