-1 . GFEftTS AT DINNER.
iO'"
" 'Deal. N. J., Feb. 19.?A dinner
party at the1 home of Ivlr.s. S. it.
Robertson was interrupted SaturdikV
night by a fna.sked bandit, who wd? A
admitted by the"hostess,' and at the
point of a revolver'robbed her of a .
handbag which she told the police
contained Jewelry ' valued at $50,000,
stripped her four guests of their valuables
and escaped. '*
Mrs. Robcrtbon was called to the
front door while entertaining iter
gbests'and
there was confronted by
the robber''whose face, excepting the
? ^ "M
eyes; was covered by a white mask.
He leveled his revolver at her and In
sharp tones ordered her to hold' up
her liunds and keep silent. He tore a
diamond sunburst from her throat
and with the wennen iirpwscil acninut I
her body, forced her to return to the
dining room.
Before the startled guests couii
realize what was happening the bandit
flourished his revolver commanding
all to put up their hands and
warned them not to make an outcry.
While'the intruder instructed his victims
to turn over their valuables, Mrs.
Robertson tided to conceal the .hand
bag with her jewels. The robber ob-\
served her, however, and snatched it
from her. Gathering up the loot that
had been deposited on the dining'
room table by the frightened guests .
the bandit then warned all to keep
o.uiet for five minutes, backed out of
the room and fled.
The police learned that u woman
and a man were seen near the Robertson
home shortly before the robbery.
It is believed the woman waited
in the motor ear and aided the
thief to escape.
