her home up on Pond. Branch. We
hope for her recovery.
It was with profound regret that
we read the death of Rev. E. L. Lyhmiirl

Corley (Rev. By brand's mother) Kev.
Cromer, Rev. Lybrand, and one Mr.
Frank Souter, through whom I received
about ten months schooling in

Heavy rains have fallen in this section
for the past few weeks with
plenty of snow and ice.
Mr. 1). L. Pool, merchant and extensive
farmer and Joe Pool of Spartanburg,
S. C., spent several days
last week with Mr. and Mrs. W. D.
Hollis and family.
Mr. Boyd Hollis, who has been employed
by the Wicks Lumber Co., of
JSnoree, S. C., is spending some time
with home folks, Mr. and Mrs. W.
D. Hollis.
Prof. E. S. Crout and wife and
children- spent the week end with
relatives of the Wateringford section.
Mr. Henry Amick of this section
and Miss Bessie Lowman of the Macedonia
section were happily married
last Thursday, February 2, at the
Piney Woods parsonage by the Rev.
Riser. We wish for this young couple
much happiness all through life's
long journey. Congratulations.
Miss Grace Amick spent the week
end with her chums. Misses Margaret
and Alice Ruth Hollis.
Mr. W. D. Hollis is spending some
time with relatives and friends in

COOPEKATIVE MARRETING

Columbia, Feb. G.?The State is
aflame with enthusiasm for the cooperative
marketing of cotton, judging
from reports and letters coming into
the offices of the South Carolina Cotton
Growers' Cooperative Association
here. Every mail brings signed contracts
and letters telling of enthusiasm
for the movement in various
sections of the state.
Darlington county observed "Signup
Day" last Tuesday and contracts
representing 4,830 bans were signed,
bringing the total number of bales
signed in that county to over 15,000.
Chesterfield sent in its first report,
contracts representing over 2,2 00
bales. A letter from the Abbeville
county director. J. F. Hill reported
enthusiasm in that county. George
R. P.riggs, county agent for Oconee
county, reports fine headway being
made in that county.
