The New Brookland school will
opeii Monday, October 26th. A full
corps of teachers has been elected and
this promises to be one of the best
years in the history of the school. G. j
W. Nichols of Newberry is Superin- i
tendent.
The North Edisto school has completed
an additional room to their al-1
ready handsome school building. This
is a three-teacher school with a seven
months term.
i
The' Gilbert trustees have completed
an additional story to their school
building that will add much to the
comfort and care of the children of j
this progressive little town. The i
building is being equipped with new \
desks, maps, blackboards, and has j
been repainted both inside and out. j
It. is indeed a handsome building. The I
trustees are planning for a formal J
_ opening on the night of October 1st,!
at which time the patrons and friends j
will come out to inspect their new j
improvements. Speakers have been !
invited and an entertaining program j
is being gotten up.
The Blue Star school holds a com- j
munity fair and barbecue Thursday, i
Ex-Governor Cole L. Blease will be
present t and deliver an address. The
County (Superintendent of Education
is expected to be present and deliver
an address also.
' The Midway school opens Monday.
Prof. D. I. Wingard is principal and
will be assisted by his sister, Miss
Cora "Wingard. Under the direction
of these competent teachers Midway
bids fair to have a successful term.

Superintendent. Trustees and teachers
will please call for them to save
the expense of mailing.
The next teachers examination will
be held on October 7th and 8th, at
the Court House in Lexington. Teach- |
ers desiring information regarding i
this examination will communicate!
with the County Superintendent. It
will be well to read the following con
cerning this examination. This examination
is given under the certifieaton
rules adopted July 1st. 1921. It

the opening exercises of the Chapin
High school on Monday, September
12th. There was a large enrollment
! on the first day. Chapin needs more
j teachers and to secure these more

schools of South Carolina, submitting
testimonials from trustees, superintendents
or principals under whom
this teaching service was rendel-ed,
furnishing a full and detailed record
of educational training in elementary
school, in high school, in normal,
school, college or university and in
nr other nrnfessional
activities along with a full, correct, I
and legible application for the tiles of
the State Department of Education.
The award of this life license
merited recognition of efficiency and
