Miss Annie Davis of Orangeburg is visiting Miss Annie Caughman. Miss Lucille Harmon of New Brookland has been visiting Miss Marguerite Dent for the past week. " Miss Annie Ballentine from Chapin j passed through Lexington Monday on her way to Batesburg. While here she was the attractive guest of Miss Marguerite Dent. Mrs. J. C. Smith and her daughter, Miss Mamie Lee, of Palmetto, Fla., spent last Friday and Saturday with their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Keisler. Mrs. Smith was formerly Miss Wingard of this county. She and her husband are now engaged in a successful hotel business in Palmetto, and are great boosters of Florida. They will go home later in the summer after,a visit to relatives in Columbia and Hendersonville. Misses Sudie Floyd and Burnese AyerSi accompanied by Mrs. Leila Crosby, spent a while with the home folks Sunday. . Miss Nellie Gantt of Wagener and Miss Minnie Lou Reynolds of Swansea, have returned home after a de- j lightful visit to their friend, Miss Jimmie Rawl. Miss Mary Sue Roof has gone to Heath Springs, where she will attend the wedding of Miss Vanlaningham, which takes place tomorrow. Miss Roof, who is a talented musician, will play the wedding march for the nuptials. Friends of Mrs. T. M. Hobbs, wrho has been quite sick, will be glad to know that she is improving. Little Erma, .who has been quite ill for some time, is little improved. Miss Bruce Clarke has returned from Washington, where she spent several weeks visiting her sisters, 'Misses Pearle and Erin Clarke.. Mrs. Pilcher Clarke and little son James, Mrs. Andrew Clarke, Mrs. Mary Blount and daughter, Eula, are visiting relatives and friends in Lexington. ' ; Mr. and Mrs. Julian P. Meetze of East Orange, N. J., who have been spending a while with Mr. and Mrs. Sam P. Roof, have returned to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Pate, of Columbia, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. M.
