Not seeing anything in The Dispatch-News of last week from Gaston [ thought perhaps some of the writers from this section were sick, therefore we have determined that Gaston shall not be slighted. Crops are looking better and are somewhat recuperating from the effects of the cold and wet weather. I'he farmers are very busy trying to ?et their crops in a growing oondi:ion. Prospects for a cotton crop are eery poor. Of course this ought to >e gratifying when we consider present itrices and the amount of last roar's crop some of the farmers have m hand. The sheriff and another ohicer moored to Gaston a few nights ago and heir presence was appreciated inasr.ueh as some of the follows were iavmg a rehearsal ol the battle ot the -\rgonju*. I am not sure as to vhether the Hindenburg lino was broken or not but there were some casualties. There were no deaths ind no one missing in action. I think he trouble was an over dose of our 'Popular Branch Water" from this section. However, t think we would all be setter citizens if some of the rural >olice would make their headquarers in Gaston, especially on Saturday tight and Sunday. Now this is no relection on the good people of our ' ittle town, therefore I think they vill agree with me. I merely threw , his out in regard to the rural police \ is a reminder and I hope some of hem will see it and visit us oftener. The Rounder. wmtmm \ it?? ?? n??a?r j I 7W II AVtRY-ijEWELER COLUMBIA.
