Upting. one of the good farmers from the Laeesville section, was in town this morning. Mr. Sam McCravy, a well known farmer of the Peters section, was a business visitor Wednesday morning. Mr. J. Ed. Funderburk preached a very interesting and instructive sermon at Richland church last Sunday afternoon. The negro came along the railroad in a fow minutes after the officers arrived here and when told to halt he broke and run. A lively chuse ensued for a few minutes and several shots were fired, but the negro made his escape. Mrs. C. C. Rowell returned to her home in St. George Saturday after several days spent here with relatives ami friends. Mr. Reriie Knight of New Brookland visited his aunt. Mrs. J. W. Sigh tier, Sunday evening.
