afternoon. His discourse was based

Rural Policemen Asblll and Lown,
accompanied by a constable from
New Brookland- were hero yesterday
in search of a negro ulleged to have
done some stealng from another negro
up about Dixiana. The negro
came along the railroad in a fow
minutes after the officers arrived
here and when told to halt he broke
and run. A lively chuse ensued for
a few minutes and several shots
were fired, but the negro made his
escape.
Mrs. C. C. Rowell returned to her
home in St. George Saturday after
several days spent here with relatives

Mr. Reriie Knight of New Brookland
visited his aunt. Mrs. J. W.
