Borrowing Trouble.
A man is foolish to borrow trouble
when there are so many people anxl

Meaning of Sun Spots
Sun spots are now thought to b
a sign of the commencing debility c
the dwarfted and shrunken star whic
we call the sun. If this idea be cor

and larger as ages pass, until at lengt
our much-admired orb of day is dark
ened and ceases to be a worthwhil
source of heat.

remarkably few* and small.
. It seems to have been proved that
. spotted areas of the sun have a lower
temperature than the bright spots
{ of the photosphere. Hence it is inferred
that quite possibly the recent
? relative abs'ence of sun spots may be
accountable for the remarkable warm
winter we have been enjoying.

The young folks of this community
spent a very delightful evening at Mr.

John Busbee has added a room to
his already* spacious dwelling. Mr.
Willie Miles and Mr. W. S. Guntei/
have erected handsome bungalows.
Better look out girls! .-i

news of i
Our community was saddened by
the death of Mr. Ben Knight, one of
our older citizens, Saturday afternoon.
after a long illness, which he |
bore patiently. He was a good neighbor
and a very unassuming man of
more than ordinary mentality. He
is survived by several sons and daughters.
his wife having died about a
year ago. The funeral services were
held at Dunn's Chapel, near Styx, after
which the body was laid to rest
in the church cemetery nearby, at 10
o'clock Monday morning.
The weather man gave us rather
a raw deal last week after such lovely
spring weather as we had been
having, but we do not think the cold
was severe enough to harm gardens
and the earlier plantings of corn. If
no colder weather occurs, the prospects
for a good peach and apple
crop are fine.
