He was j the last surviving member of his immediate family, father, mother, two brothers/and one sister having preceded him to the spirit world. He was a faithful member, and a most efficient member of the church council of Nazareth E. L. church. Energetic and successful in business, a Christian gentleman, kind and obliging his friends are counted far and near. To / know him was to love him. He identified himself with the active, charitable, and benevolent work and institutions of the church, attending the conferential and synodical meetings of the church when called upon, and acting upon important committees. The funeral service at his home was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, and besides the pastor the. following ministerial brethren were present and took part in the service, or spoke tender words of sympathy and tribute to i his memory as a friend to all that is good,and noble and true; Revs. 6. This is to notify all old Confederate veterans in Lexington county to meet . at Lexington * court house, on the 19th day of March, 1921, at 10 o'clock A. M., for the purpose of electing three members of an Honor Board to whom all business of the pensioners are intrusted, under late act of the legislature. It is, therefore, necessary for all old Confederate vet erans to attend this meeting:, promptly that the said board can be elected' and act at once, in order to expedite the business, so that the pensions can be paid as early as possible.
