Yeggmen Mew open the safe in the
general merchandise store of J. W.
Sightler, of Gaston, sometime Saturday
night, but obtained no booty as
the safe was empty. Discovery of
the attempt to rob the store was made
Sunday morning by Mr. Sightler when
he went to the store.
Saturday night Mr. Sightler instructed
his clerk to take all the cash
home with him and because pf this
no money was in vfte safe When it
was blown. It is not known whether
any merchandise was stolen, as Mr.
Sightler has not yet made an inventory
of his goods.
The robbers left no tract behind
that might throw light upon the case.
A lazy man is no worse than a dead
one, but he takes up more room.?
