DISCOVERED RELATIVE
TllBOljGH BIG NKWBPAPEB
ADVERn8E?IENT.
? )
> Through roadbig a newspaper advertisement
in the Twin-County News,
Mr.l'. B. BisJnRer of the Gilbert sec-j
tion, discovered a kinsman of his living
in Kentucky . in the person of
"Uncle", John Shell, now living at
Greasy Greek, Kentucky, who is said
to be the oldest living person in this
country.v By some it is believed the
old gorftlemun is 131 years of age.
Among, other things printed in the advertiepment
is an affidavit of a kinswoman
or Mr. Shell who says tho date
of his birth as recorded in tho family I
bible is Sentember IB. 180S. which I
. ' would make him 112 years old this
r
year. '
Mr. Bisingcr was struck with the
1 v remarkable likeness which the aged
# Ken tuck inn bore to his grandfather
and began to trace the matter, finding
that Mr. Shell was his great uncle.
Mr. Shell was for many years an
expert rifllo maker. John Shell, rifles,
with his private mark behind the lock,
are said to be 'highly prized by collectors.
Not very long ago one of the big
national -magazines published a story
about.Mr. Sllell and his attainment
of such a ripe old age.
