ASI3URY PARK JftAS
AERIAL NEWSPAPER
Aerial l>aily American Free to Everybody,
Circulated From Plane
Aflbury Park, N. J.?Lying- directly
in the path of all air traffic between
coastwise cities, this place, as
well as towns to the t north and Bouth,
is thoroughly blase as regards airplanes!
"When a little girl from New
York ran into the house crying: "Oh,
grandmjother. come and see the beautiful
flock of seagulls," the household
came out on the piazza and after ope
skyward glance, returned wearily indoors,
the old lady remarking. "Why,
' ^ child that's-only another fleet of.
planes. Look twice, dear, before you
call us next time!" Even the big
dirigibles cause only passing interest, ,
and then mainly because, flying at a .
lower altitude, they seem to threaten ,
chimneys and cables.
But interest reawakened in a meas- j
ure this week when every afternoon s
an. airplane flies slowly over the city 1
and, making smlall circles over tho i
principal centers of population, throws i
out what was at first taken for a cloud i
j of confetti, but which pfoved when it <
v\ j came fluttering^'to the ground to be 1
s the first issue of. the Aerial Bally 3
/ American, a small 12-page newspa- ]
"t per, mainly devoted to the interests of
\ 'the local tradesfolk. but containing ]
\ much news of the doings along the
\ shore and editorial comment on the
j same, the editor-owner of which is {
\ Delbert E. Davenport, who announc- ?
ed it as "Asbury Park's winged jour- 1
nal, free to everybody." '
Some referred to it as the "fly pa- t
per," and the editor rejoins that "he '
only hopes they'll stick."
Everybody likes the innovation and 1
hopes that the airplane may carry a f
tin cup trailing: on a string so that
they can pay for the paper as it comes f
along should the owner ever get tired A
doing business for nothing.

man of fifty more than in a boy of
twenty.
Nobody grows old by merely living
i numlbor of years. People grow old
jnly by deserting their ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin; but to give
ap enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Worry, doubt, self-interest, fear and
iespair?these are the long, long years
that bow the heart and turn the greening
spirit back to%dust.
WhetheV sixty or sixteen, there is in
svery human being's heart the lure of
wonder, the sweet amazement at th?i
stars and /.t star-like things and
thoughts, the undaunted challenge of
avents, the unfailing, child-like appetite
for what next, and the joy of the
jame of iivlng. You are as young as
your faith, as old as your doubt; as
young as your self-confld?nce, as old
as your fear; as young as your hope.
is old as your despair.
In -the central place of your heart is
in evergreen tree; its name is Love.
3o long as it flourishes you are young.
When iv dies you are old. In the central
place of your heart is a wireless
station. So long as it receives messages
of beauty, hope, cheer, grandeur,
courage and power from God and
