AUTOMOTIVE SOCIETY
PROTECTS CAR OWNERS
Columbia, Nov. . 21.?The South
Carolina Automotive Trades Association
has launched a plan by which it
hopes to check the theft of automobile
in this state and to aid in the re
covery of those that are stolen. The
association has asked each member to
notify the secretary in Columbia im/
, mediately on the theft of the car, giving
number of the ear, license number,
motor number and a full description
of the Car. The secretary will, immediately
upon receipt of the notification
of-the theft, asking them to be on the
lookout for same. He will also place
notices in?the papers, a very large
number of which have already promised
to co-operate with the association
in the recovery of these cars.

Messrs Booker and Gibbes a banquet
on Saturday night at which much
enthusiasm was manifested. The
association was only or
ganized last week but bids fair of becoming
one of the livest in the State.
Santos Sottilo, a director of the state
association, is president of the -Charleston
association.
The Carolina Aircraft Corporation,
of Columbia, is the first airplane corporation
to apply for membership in
the association. This corporation,
which was only recently organized, is
composed of a number of Columbia
automobile dealers. R. I>. Lambert is
president. The company has purchased
an airplane and will use it for
demonstration and passenger carrying
purposes. The company has the

Preparations already being made
for the first annual meeting of the association,
which will be held in Spartanburg
the third Tuesday in January.
Invitation to the association to meet
