thee!
/ j
We miss thee from thy plate,
A shadow over our life is cast;

We miss the sunshine of thy face '

We miss thy kind and willing hand, j
Thy fond and earnest care;
Our home is dark without thee.
W> miss thee, everywhere.

A face we loved to see is gone,
A voice we loved lo hear is still, i
AI place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.

Through all pains at times she'd j

A smile of heavenly birth;
And when the angels called her j
home
She smiled farewell to earth.

She has crossed the cold dark river, ;
Angels hold her gently by the hand. :

She is safe from storms forever, i
Safe within the promised land.

She is happy now forever.
All her suffering now is o'er;
And with smiling face she's waiting, j
For her dear ones on the shore.

Dearest grandmother, how we loved j

We must bid a long farewell.

No more in the lonely household
Will your tender voice be heard.
But up yonder in the portals.
That are shining very i'air,
Grandmother is now sheltered.
By the Saviour's loving care.
Oh, how hard it is to part
With the one we prized so high.
To stand and watch beside the bed
And see our dear grandmother die.
But heaven now retains our treasure;
Earth the lonely casket keeps;
And the sunbeams love to linger.
