GERMAN REPUBLIC CONE{UL MOVES IN Flag Is Unfurled From Same Pole it Flew From Before the War New York, Jan. 3.-Germany's flag today reappeared among those of other nations which fly from the tall buildings of New York's finan cial. and shipping districts. - It was unfurled from the same flag pole, atop No. 11 Broadway, from which it was hauled down in the spring of 1917, and marked the location of the reestablished consu lar offices of the new German re public. For more than a week repre sentatives of Consul General Karl Lang-temporarily charge d'affairs of his government at Washington had been preparing for a reopening of the offices. A score of desks, filing cases and a couple of steel safes were moved across the hall from the offices of the Swiss con sul, their custodian during the war. UNLOADED GUN CLAIMS VICTIM Hartsville, Jan. 3.-Julian John son, aged fifteen years, was acciden tally killed yesterday by his cousin, Harry Johnson, a boy of about the same age. Julian, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson, lived with his par ents on Coker's Highland Farm, two miles north of Hartsville. Yesterday afternoon, between 4 and 5 o'clock, the boys shouldered their guns and went for a hunt. Harry, thinking his gun was unloaded, suggented to Ju lian that they load up, as they might kill a rabbit. In attempting to put in a shel land breaching his gun, the loaded shell, already in the gun exploded and the entire load of shot entered . Julian's left side. The wounded boy walked about three-quarters of a mile to his home.
