The wvomian, Josie Craig, whom Haw
kins, it is charged, killed was a mem
ber of a picnic party traveliig in a
truck when three shots were fired in
to the party. The woman died ten
minutes later. After this shooting the
sheriff went to work on the ease and
talked with William Morgan, a proi
inent farmer of the upper section of
the county, among others. Hawkins
went to see Morgan after the sheriff's
visit, asked him what he had been
telling the sheriff, then shol him once
in the throat ,it is said. Morgan's con
dition today is serious.

held at the Baywood school house on
Thursday, July 15th, 1920 for the pur
pose of voting on the question of whe
ther said district shall levy and collect
annually a further special tax of four
(4) mills for general school purposes.
Polls open from 7 a. in. to 4 p. m.

ceipts required as in general elections.
