WILL HOLD DOODLEY FOR KILLING WIFE Will Doodley, alias Jim Davis, has been taken to Williamsburg county to be held pending an investigation. The negro was supposed to be wanted on the charge of having killed his wife about ten years ago. Doodley created some excitement at the police station last Wednesday af ternoon when he threw his body against a window at the barracks and 'rashed through to the sidewalk tak ing the sash with him. The negro was ,eing questioned in a private room ind a circular headed "Wanted for %lurder" was held so Dooley could read the print. In an instant the man ,vas going through the window. le ,vas captured after a brief but spirited 'oot race. Chief Richardson notified the Wil iamsburg county officers and a deputy vas sent to Columbia. The murdered voman was named Venus Washington )efore she married and it is said that Dooley told the Williamsburg county leputy that he married a woman mamedi Venus Washington.
