B. Springs, according to a story
in the Greenville Piedmont, is being
urged by friends in every part of the
State to enter the gubernatorial race
next year. He admits having receiv
ed numerous offers of support in this
connection, but states that he has
given no definite answer to his friends
Col. Springs was discharged from the
military service i'n April, after having
I served more than twetny years. He
was one of the best known and most
popular officers of the Thirtieth Divi
sion, serving in France as commander
of trains with this division, also as
acting division quartermaster and act
ing G-1.
Col. Springs has announced his in
tention to give up his residence in
Georgetown and remove to Greenville.

TROPICAL STORM WARNING
Miami, Fla., Sept. 29.-A tropical
disturbance appeared to be frming
between Miami and the Bahama Is
lands, slightly to the north of these
islands, it was reported by the weather
bureau tonight. Neither direction nor
intensity has been ascertained, but it
is believed the storm is moving to the
northward. No storm warnings have
yet been hoisted and the weather bu
reau is awaiting developments before
taking such steps. An advisory warn
ing will be issued later tonight.
