Private Clarence Iseman, who has been ill several weeks in the army hospital at Camp Jackson, has been transferred to the Toumey hospital, Sumter. The deceased is survived by the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Weeks and X.ss Victoria Gayle and Messrs R. C. and R. L. Gayle. Messrs. Bertram Weinberg and G. M. Smith left Sunday for New York, where they will buy their spring stock for Iseman-Weinberg Co. They were accompanied on their trip by Mr. Joe Nimmer. The relatives of Mr. Louis Levi were summoned to his bedside in Ab beville yesterday. Mr. Levi was taken suddenly ill Monday night. Mr. Da vid Levi and Mr. Iseman are with him. A wire that came in this morning stated that he was still in a critical conditon. LOST-Sunday morning, January 13th, between Sumter and Maninng, outer casing for rear wheel Ford car. At present they are at the home of Hon. A. C. Bradham. Mr. J. W. Pole, of Washington, D. C., is spending several days here. Mr. Pole, who is a National bank exam iner is examining the People's Bank of Mannig preparatory to that in stitution entering the ranks of . the national banks. This.will be the first national bank in Clarendon county and The Times wishes them well in their new field. "Rasputin, the Black Monk" at the Pastime Friday night will tell you sonething about the strange happen ings in Russia (luring the past year or so. Manning witnessed another se vere storm last Friday night, but this time we were more fortunate than a great many places. This tornado which swept over several states did lots of damage, both to property and lives. The damage in our town was a few fences and trees blown down, and most of the people lost a good night's sleep. It was an awful night; the wind blew a gale; the rain came down in torrents and the lightning flashing caused much anxiety among our peo ple. The Civic League will meet at the Court House Monday afternoon, Jan. 21st, at 4 o'clock. A full attendance is especially urg ed, -as plans and work will be discuss ed for the new year. An appeal hi been sent out by our State Pr(-iidenc, Mrs. J. L. Coker, that iouth Carolina raise One Thousand dollars -for community clubs estab lished at the, different camp cities. To rais' this, each club has been as ressed twenty five cents per member. Pee Dee District's money is to go to Camp Sevier. Monzon, President. The fifth district convention of the Knights of Pythias was held here last Tuesday night with Clarendon Lodge No. 173. There was a good attendance of delegates representing the lodges in this district. After a highly inter esting address delivered. by Grand Chancellor W. E.
