AMERICA TOJLEAD
IN A MY AVIATORS
Washington, June 3.-That the
United States will lead the world in
military aviation when present plans
are completed is the belief of the
aircraft production board of the Coun
cil of National Defense.
"France and Great Britain have
made it plain again and again that
they expect air-craft and aviators to
be one of America's greatest contribu
tions to success in the war," said
Howard E. Coffin, chairman of the
board, tonight. "The government can
now say that it is actually embarked
upon the task of overcoming its pres
ent deficiency in military aviation.
We believe that the outlook promises
a quick development of the latest air
resources of America which may be
unprecedented in military history of
the world."
Student aviators are now in train
ing at the preliminary aviation

completed, the board announced to
night. The training of about 600
aviators is expected to begin not later
than July 20.
That America will not only attempt
to outstrip the world in military avia
tion, but will make great forward
strides in the development of under

The board announced that an aviation

American fields.

"For months I was in a broken

lot of time in bed or in a chair,"
said Mrs. M. D. Rowers, of Williams

failed to improve until I began tak
ing Tanlac. Really, I steadily got
worse until I began taking Tanlac.
For ten years my health had been
going down hill. My stomach was in
an awful condition and I suffered ter

"But since taking Tanlac I feel fine.
I took eleven bottles and I'm doing
all my house work now and when
night comes I still feel strong and
good. The Tanlac just worked a
miracle for me, I think, and one who
has never been as sick as I was for

140,000 GUARDSM[N WILL
BE WAY TO FRANCE BY
FALL, PLAN OF WAR HEADS
Washington, June 2.--The United
States will sepd 180,000 troops to
Europe before winter, according to
plans being worked out by the army
general staff today. Approximately
140,000 will be national guardsmen.
The guai' regiment will be given
a short period of intensive training
at their state camps and the federal
divisional encampments, and then will
be sent to France to complete their
preparation behind the lines as an
nounced by the International News
Service last ,night. The entire com
mand will be under Major General
John J. Pershing.
The sending of the guardsmen
abroad is in answer to the appeal of
France for man-power. The pressing
necessity for every soldier available
at the front if Germany is to be de
feated has been made clear to Presi
dent Wilson by Marshal Joffre and
others. The decision to send the
guardsmen abroad was taken, it is
stated, because the majority of thei
alread yhave had training on the bor
dler, wvhile the regular army is needed
to train the 500,000 selective con-I
scripts wvho will be ordered out early
in September.

The Sociable Clubster
COMBINING as it does the companionableness of the
roadster and the capacity of the touring car, the
LEXINGTON four-passenger Clubster is deservedly one of
the most popular cars sold today.
The LEXINGTON Clubster is a hospitable 'car.. It is
roomy and comfortable, yet all of the occupants are brought
into one delightful company without that sense of separation
which is unavoidable in any touring car.
The Moore Multiple Exhaust System, the most valuable
single feature offered by any car made today, is'an added
reason for the LEXINGTON Clubster. It means 22.8%
more usable power with less gasoline, increased hill
climbing ability, less gear changing,- more flexible power,
less carbon trouble, and, because power is obtained at
lower engine speeds, less vibration and wear and tear on
engine and car.
LEXINGTON beauty of line and finish are only exceeded
by LEXINGTON performance. - You will be completely
