Mr. J. W. McLeod has had one-out to
his house for some time.
Married last Thursday in Sumter
county at the residence of the bride's
parents, Mr. J. 1-1. Harrison, of Clar
endon, and Miss S. E. Watts, of Sum
ter. Rev. J. 0. Gough performed the
marriage service.
The Sumter tobacco warehouse was
destroyed by fire last Sunday morn
ing, 75,000 pounds of tobacco being
burned up. While this fire was rag
ing the handsome residences of
Messrs. M'ditc'hell and F'erdinand I ,evi
were in imin ent danger andt shortly
a fter the firemen returned to their
engine houses, the residence of Mrs.
A. 1. Brown caught on fire and the
most of it was dlestroyedI.
