practicing law in Washington, spent

Burgess, two Clarendon boys, mem
bers of the Clemson College Glee
Club, will feel good over their venture
in bringing that organization to Man
ning, for there is every evidence that
they will have a reord breaking at
'endane at their performance on
Friday night.
M. A. Maxwell, the most entertain
ng magician traveling, will give a
)erformance in the chapel of the col
>red graded school Friday night, Feb
ruary 23rd. Admission 15 cents. The
entertainment will last two hours be
ginning at 8:30. It is said to be a
real good entertainment that pleases
any audience.
The buildings next to the postoffice,
and occupied by a furniture business
and Western Union Telegraph Co.,
will be remodeled and made into one
store and will be occupied by B. B.
Breedin's grocery. These changes to
be made at once. Mr. Breedin's rap
idly increasing trade demands more
room, thus he has contracted with us
for this spacious building.
The annual union mass meeting of
the W. C. T. U. and all of the churches
of Manning to observe Frances Wil
lard Memorial Day will be held this
year in the Presbyterian church, Sun
day night, February ;,5th, at 7:30
o'clock. The program for the occa
sion is in the hands of the pastor,
Rev. L. B. McCord, and will be a good
one. The choir will render special
music. The public is cordially in

his theatre is suitable to run the

Morgenroth was very well pleased
with the outlook, stating that The
