"Tbia. articfaf'lmb business Is get ting to oe something wonderful," said a CleGand men. "When a man can wiggle the ftnges of an artifcial band it is uncanny. Practical jokes of terri ble effect are.possible with the artificial limb, and the victim is such in the true eense of the word. I saw a man in Denver about three weeks ago who walked up to the hotel clerk and in a friendly way reached across the coun ter to shake-hands. Then he wheeled away and left his band in the grip of the clerk. The clerk fainted-actually fainted, although he realized, I believe, that the band be-held was but an arti ficial one. The man who wore it had devised a scheme by which he might throw it of by pressing a spring. The delight he took in the joke ceased when the victim collapsed."--Mllwaukee Sen tinel. Notice. At the -suggestion of the present Board of Trustees, notice is hereby given that an election will be held at the court house, Saturday, May 13, to elect Trustees for the Manning School District. W. There are six gates, and the approach to each gate is laid with a pavement of human skulls, the tops being the only parts that show above ground. More than 2,000 skulls are used in the pavement leading up to each gate. The pavement Is of snowy avhiteness, lbeto the smoothness of Ivory ythe daily passage of hundreds of naked feet. How to Ward Off Old Age. The most successful way of warding off the approach of old age is to main tain a vigorous digestion. This can be done by eating only food suited to your age and occupation, and when any dis order of the stomach appears take a dose of Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets to correct it. If you have a weak stomach or are troubled with indigestion, you will find these Tablets to be just what you need. For sale by The R. B. Loryea Drug Store, Isaac M. Loryea, Prop. The Palindrome.
