Editor THE MANNING TIMES: Press
ire of business has delayed my re
ponding earlier to your wise sugges
ion relating to the building of a high
ra between Alcolu and Sardinia. I
,m glad that there is such a move in I
ontemplation for it is a movement
rhich appeals to the common sense of
hinking people who are interested in
he upbuilding and promotion of the 1
ounty's interests.
This new road will bring to our coun- 1
y seat a very desirable trade-a people ]
rho are money-makers: they can reach 1
his place by several miles nearer than
.n other market, and by building a
irst class road it will be an inducement
or them to turn in our direction.
What you say about contributions for
he building of this road by the busi
tess men in Manning is very forceful.
Every property owner should contrib
tte to this end. While it is true the
hole county will be benefited by the
ipbuilding of our county seat, Manning
ill be the direct beneficiary and
hould be foremost in the building of
his road.
I do not know what the cost of the
oad will be, but as a business man, do
ng all in my power to draw trade to
danning, I am so impressed with the
isdom of your suggestions that I offer
o contribute as my share towards the
uilding of this road the sum of $50.
Let us all join in and build the road
rom Alcolu to Sardinia.
